2023 Issue Recognized by Florida Magazine Association

We've got some super exciting news to share with you all. Drumroll, please… Living in Horizon West magazine recently snagged a highly respected award!

Yep, you read that right! Our magazine got a big-time honor at the 2023 Charlie Awards Banquet held on July 21 at The Westin Sarasota in Sarasota, FL. We gratefully accepted the Silver Award for Best Custom Publication in the Consumer category. And let us tell you, it's a pretty big deal in the publishing world!

The Charlie Awards are presented by Florida Magazine Association, Inc. (FMA), a professional community for publishing professionals throughout the state of Florida. Founded in 1953, FMA has grown to become the largest state magazine association in the nation! FMA’s annual Charlie Awards competition crowns publishers, writers, editors, photographers, etc. as the best among their peers in a variety of categories. We are extraordinarily honored that our publication was selected for such a distinguished award!

We have always believed that Horizon West, Florida is an incredible place to live, and we work hard to showcase the ways residents can thrive here. And now we’re over the moon knowing that our hard work and dedication to bringing you the only community guide that’s focused solely on Horizon West has been recognized formally by our industry peers.

Living in Horizon West magazine Publisher Cynthia Dailey had this to say about the Charlie Award experience, “Mingling and exchanging ideas with the best and brightest of the Florida magazine industry was exhilarating and rewarding. Having achieved this honor and being able to see examples of the incredible work being recognized inspires us to strive even further in creating stellar content that gives Horizon Westers the info they need to live the very best possible version of their lives here.”

Cheers and Thanks to You!

The now award-wining 2023 issue is our sixth. Since its inception, Living in Horizon West has been committed to providing insightful, engaging, and informative content that captures the essence of our vibrant community. The credit goes to our small (but mighty!) team of writers, photographers, designers, community contributors and editors who work tirelessly to bring you stories that reflect the unique character and charm of Horizon West as well as all the pertinent details you expect from an annual community resource guide.

We also want to express our appreciation for the creative and operational contributions made by the team at Horizon West Happenings. They played an important role during our collaboration for the first six issues. Though Horizon West Magazine is now operating separately from Horizon West Happenings, they continue to be our partners not only in business, but in the community.

But that's not all – our readers and advertisers, YOU, have been our biggest supporters from day one. Without your interest and encouragement, none of this would have been possible.
