As our society continues to move towards a more technologically driven world, it is important to take a step back, away from the screens, and experience the arts as they were originally intended to be — live and in living color.
Finding opportunities to engage with the arts close to home, and as a part of daily life, truly enriches our human experience here in Horizon West. The arts not only give us a creative outlet to express ourselves, but also the ability to get lost in new viewpoints as an active observer — bringing individuals together to relate with one another in new and refreshing ways.
Thankfully, our ever-growing community is quickly becoming a hub for cultural exchange and celebration. The expanding arts scene encompasses music, dance, theater and much more.
Whether you are participating in one of our community festivals, shopping at artisan markets throughout the year, spending an evening listening to an up-and-coming local artist at one of our breweries, or attending a theatrical production by HW high school students or performers from our very own local community theater group, the variety of artistic expression at your disposal is vast and thriving.
For those wishing to hone their own artistic craft, Horizon West is welcoming to anyone who wants to get involved. You can take classes at a dance studio, volunteer with Horizon West Theater Company in performance and behind-the-scenes roles, or visit a DIY craft studio to create your next masterpiece. There is no shortage of opportunities to create, perform or inspire! Wherever your creative aspirations take you, Horizon West has a place for it! And if you find your talents taking you down an undiscovered road, I encourage you to embrace your creativity and help our community discover something new. You could be the catalyst for the next innovation in our local arts scene!
