A Celebration of All Things Horizon West

Horizon West Fest 2022 was the forth annual celebration of all the things that we love most about our community. This is the first of two signature events that our Horizon West Happenings team hosts annually to create a place for residents to relax, connect and enjoy the uniqueness of the Horizon West community.

Thousands of residents came out to spend time with neighbors, family and friends in a friendly and welcoming outdoor environment at Horizon West Fest on March 5, 2022!

Horizon West Fest's one-of-a-kind “Kids Zone” was bigger and better than ever!  With everything from story time to an obstacle course and a human foosball game, there were activities for every age! The Kids Zone All Access wristband that was available for purchase was a huge hit! It offered unlimited access to premium attractions including the Wrecking Ball Challenge, Rocking Climbing Wall plus Turbo Tumbler and The Orbiter Spin & Tilt amusement ride! The event DJ and Healthy West Orange Dance Breaks kept the kids moving with hula hoop competitions, choreographed dances and more!

Mouthwatering Local Foods & Cool Brews

The eats at Horizon West Fest were sizzling — especially at fan-favorites Smoking Soul BBQ and Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza! The nitro cold brew coffee from Otus Coffee was as crowd-pleasing as the down-home-style mac and cheese from Gertrude's Kitchen! Local hotspots Gator's Dockside, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, Bruster's Real Ice Cream and Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream kept everyone well fed and smiling all day! The two-story Pop Up Restaurant truck literally took dining to the next level with rooftop tables for shaded dining with amazing views of the whole event!

This year for the first time ever, Horizon West Fest had beer and wine available, too! Persimmon Hollow Brewing Co. delighted the crowd with their very own locally brewed craft beers! They are opening soon at Flamingo Crossings off of Western Way near Horizon West Village I.

Microlocal Businesses and Organizations

Horizon West Happenings is proudly committed to supporting and celebrating the local Horizon West entrepreneurs and businesses that create the fabric of our community. Horizon West Fest serves as an opportunity for community members to connect directly with local businesses and support our local economy. Over 80 local businesses were represented and they generously offered up free swag, raffles, special deals and more!

It wasn't all business though! Booths featuring community organizations ranged from churches to Orange County Sherriff’s Office to the new Horizon West Kiwanis group and everything in between. It was great to see these community groups interacting with local residents with games, crafts and so much more!

Fantastic Live Music, Demonstrations, Performances and More

The event stage was rocking all day long with talented local residents performing for the crowd. Horizon West Theater Company's brilliant performers wowed guests, especially when young Lilly Belle Lanese belted out showstopping vocal performances!

Healthy West Orange dance-offs inspired the little ones to get up and get moving, while F45 Horizon West challenged kids and adults to a 2-minute plank challenge! There was a lot of squirming and giggling through both!

Windermere High's Marching Band kicked off the event and Victory Martial Arts put on a heart-pumping demonstrations of their training and talents! 

Who's Who of Horizon West 2022 Awarded

It takes extraordinary people of all skill sets and talents to create a well-rounded and vibrant community. The Who's Who of Horizon West Award is presented to dedicated and determined community builders who have gone above and beyond to "create what they want to be a part of" in Horizon West.  This year's Who's Who recipients were recognized on stage by 2021 Who's Who recipient Dawn Willis from Orlando Health and our Orange County District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson.

Guests received our coveted swag bags packed with generous contributions from our vendors and sponsors! Attending early is crucial for snagging one before they are gone!

We might be a little biased, but our favorite item in the swag bag was the BRAND NEW Living on Horizon West resource and lifestyle guide! This annually printed magazine is the only local guide that is focused solely on our microlocal community of Horizon West. If you didn't snag a copy at the event, you can find one at many brick & mortar businesses in HW or visit our Horizon West Happenings tent at local events.

Guests also participated in a scavenger hunt with clever clues leading them from tent to tent. Upon completion, each family received a Horizon West bumper magnet and a raffle entry for a chance to win an awesome prize basket.
