Horizon West Community Corner - Dec 2019: Tamara Zotti

December 5, 2019

“Tamara is an amazing woman and an inspiration.”

Each month our team has the distinct pleasure of selecting a resident or business making a positive impact in Horizon West. This month it’s with great joy that we recognize Tamara Zotti in our Community Corner.

“Tamara is one of the most selfless and giving people I have ever met. She has such a pure and loving heart that you just can’t help but be happy around her. She is a light in today’s world!”

“Tamara is an amazing woman and an inspiration.”

“Tamara is the most selfless and giving person I have the pleasure of calling my friend.   I love her “can do” attitude for everything and anything!  She is truly an inspiration for the students. “

These are just a few of the heartwarming quotes that we received from Tamara’s inner circle. Tamara Zotti is a Horizon West resident with a passion for helping others. She has made great efforts to ensure that our younger generation has the ability to serve in our community regardless of age and academic standing.

As the founder of both B.R.A.V.O. and H.O.P.E., Tamara was driven to create a place where our youth would have the opportunity to show kindness and compassion. They would experience first-hand the pure joy that can be reaped from volunteering and giving back to others. She wanted students to understand that no matter how big or small the act of service seems – one person, one act can make a BIG difference.

Tamara founded B.R.A.V.O which stands for Bobcats Reaching Available Volunteer Opportunities in 2017 when her son Nicolas was in 7th grade at Bridgewater Middle School. B.R.A.V.O is an extension of the PTSO and allows all students to join and serve regardless of academic achievement. Tamara hopes to pass the spirit of volunteerism on to her own kids as well as students by providing opportunities for -not just students - but entire families to serve together.

When Horizon West Middle School opened its doors in August, the Zotti family was rezoned and an opening was created for Tamara to carry on her good works alongside her daughter Samantha, now in 8th grade. Already off to a fast-paced start, H.O.P.E, Hornets Offering Positive Efforts, has completed a clothing drive, served at Dream Catcher Horse Ranch and Flavor Fest of Horizon West and plans to participate in the Matthew’s Hope Community Christmas Carnival later this month.

Selfless is the word that has been continuously echoed by those describing this community superstar. Busyness does not stop Tamara from selflessly pouring her heart out into our community. This busy mom of two teenagers works full time as a teacher assistant at Windermere Preparatory School and serves as the Vice-President of the PTSO for Horizon West Middle School.

Congratulations Tamara Zotti! Your hard work and dedication are inspiring adults and students alike. We are so proud to recognize you as a role model and extraordinary community member of Horizon West.
