A Celebration of #AllTheThings 
In 2019, the Inaugural Horizon West Fest at Hamlin was a celebration of all the things that we love most about our community.  This was the first of two signature events that our Horizon West Happenings team willhost annually to create a place for residents to relax, connect and enjoy the uniqueness of the Horizon West community. Thousands of residents came out to Hamlin to spend time with neighbors, family and friends.


Create What You Want To Be A Part Of!
We realize that being part of a young, growing community means that sometimes the things you want don’t exist yet, and it’s up to all of us to make them a reality. That's why the theme of the Horizon West Fest this year was "Create What You Want To Be A Part Of!".  Businesses, organizations, county services and community leaders where all in attendance encouraging residents to take an active role creating and supporting the special interests that matter most to each of you.

From Street to Stage, There Was Something to See At Every Turn….
At 2pm sharp on Saturday, March 9th, the Windermere High School Marching Band made its way from the mainstage down through Shoreside Way signaling the start of the inaugural Horizon West Fest.  It was so much fun to dance and cheer for our Wolverines! The WHS Dance Team kicked and twirled trailing the band back to the mainstage where they delighted the crowd with a special performance followed by a kid-friendly dance party to get the littles moving.
 
The one of a kind “Kid Zone” featured activities geared toward getting kids to engage, connect and have fun in healthy, meaningful ways. Our sponsors came together to create fun experiences for all stages of life. Everything from sack races, to obstacle courses, to a human powered snow cone machine and creative fun with Horizon West Rocks.  There was even a shaded tot lot for the smallest ones to explore and play. 

Along Shoreside Way, vendors lined the street as far as the eye could see. Booths ranged from the Orange County Sherriff’s Department to Warrior One Yoga and everything in between. The goal of bringing a wide range of vendors to The Marketplace was to ensure that all aspects of Horizon West were represented so residents could connect with all available resources.
 
Guests were able to participate in a scavenger hunt with clever clues leading through one of 5 paths. Upon completion each family received a special trophy and a point for their Village. The proud winner of this year’s scavenger hunt title was The Village of Bridgewater!

The newly minted Horizon West Theater Company hosted “Horizon West’s Got Talent” featuring performances that included music, comedy and more. On deck to award the winners were celebrity judges from Disney World, Universal Studios and The Voice. Music from the amazing MC Scotty B followed by a live performance from local legend, Layla Brisbois along with her band The Figure It Outs gave the whole event an atmosphere of excitement and ambience.

Our team at Horizon West Happenings had an absolute blast meeting and connecting with so many of YOU, our valued community members.  As Horizon West continues to grow and evolve, there is room for so much more to exist and be created.
