A Celebration of All Things Horizon West

Horizon West Fest 2021 was the third annual celebration of all the things that we love most about our community. This is the first of two signature events that our Horizon West Happenings team hosts annually to create a place for residents to relax, connect and enjoy the uniqueness of the Horizon West community.

Thousands of residents came out to spend time with neighbors, family and friends in a friendly, fun, and safe outdoor environment at Horizon West Fest on March 6, 2021!

Super Fun Kids Zone

Horizon West Fest's one-of-a-kind “Kids Zone” was bigger and better than ever!  With everything from story time to obstacle courses to a human foosball game, there were complimentary activities for every age! The Kids Zone All Access pass that was available for pre-purchase was a huge hit! It offered unlimited access to premium attractions including the Wrecking Ball Challenge, Rocking Climbing Wall and Turbo Tubs amusement ride! The event DJ kept the kids moving with hula hoop competitions and more socially distanced fun, too!

Mouthwatering Local Foods

The eats at Horizon West Fest were sizzling — especially at fan-favorites Smoking Soul BBQ and BBQ Brazil Express Food Truck! The vegan nachos from Humbl were as crowd-pleasing as the down-home-style mac and cheese from Gertrude's Kitchen! Local hotspots Poke Hana, Gator's Dockside and Abbott's Frozen Custard kept everyone fed and smiling! And Bruster's Windermere took the joyfulness of their freshly made, real ice cream a step farther and offered up gifts from a local balloon artist, too!

Microlocal Businesses and Organizations

Horizon West Happenings is proudly committed to supporting and celebrating the local Horizon West entrepreneurs and businesses that create the fabric of our community. Horizon West Fest serves as an opportunity for community members to connect directly with local businesses and support our local economy. Over 70 local businesses were represented and they generously offered up free swag, raffles, special deals and more!

It wasn't all business though! Booths featuring community organizations ranged from the Orange County Sherriff’s Department to the new Horizon High School and everything in between. It was great to see these community groups interacting with local residents!

Fantastic Live Music, Demonstrations, Performances and More

The event stage was rocking all day long with talented local residents performing for the crowd. Horizon West Theater Company's Andrew Khan and Caleb Graham belted out incredible solo performances for guests. 

Healthy West Orange dance-offs inspired the little ones to get up and get moving, while F45 Horizon West challenged kids and adults to a 2-minute plank challenge! There was a lot of squirming and giggling through both!

Finnegan Academy's Irish dancing fancy footwork wowed the crowd repeatedly and Victory Martial Arts put on a heart-pumping demonstrations of their training and talents!

Who's Who of Horizon West 2021 Awarded

It takes extraordinary people of all skill sets and talents to create a well-rounded and vibrant community. The Who's Who of Horizon West Award is presented to dedicated and determined community builders who have gone above and beyond to Create What They Want to be a Part of in Horizon West.  This year's Who's Who recipients were recognized on stage by 2020 Who's Who recipient Pastor Brian Johnson from Citrus Church and our new Orange County District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson.

Guests received the most packed swag bags we have ever handed out! This year's sponsors and participants went all out with generous contributions!

We are a little biased, but our favorite item in the swag bag was the BRAND NEW Horizon West Happenings magazine! This annually printed magazine is the only dedicated lifestyle and resource guide that is focused solely on what is here in our microlocal community of Horizon West. If you didn't snag a copy at the event, you can find one at many brick & mortar businesses in HW or visit our Horizon West Happenings tent at local events.

Guests were also able to participate in a scavenger hunt with clever clues leading them from tent to tent. Upon completion, each family received a Horizon West bumper magnet and a raffle entry for a chance to win an awesome prize basket. The proud winner of this year’s scavenger hunt prize basket was Thevi Jackson! She and her daughters seem to be enjoying their prizes!
