Honored to be recognized with a Communicator Award of Distinction and with a Charlie Award by the Florida Magazine Association.
Andrew Leftakis has spent the past 15 years working in a wide range of roles for Orange County Public Schools. Most recently, he was principal at Maitland Middle School, but now the OCPS veteran is at the helm of one of Horizon West's two high schools — Windermere High.
We had the pleasure of talking with the friendly and enthusiastic administrator this week. Watch the interview below to see Mr. Leftakis share his work experience with OCPS, advice for families and students, and his hopes for a little "rivalry love" with nearby Horizon High when it opens this year.
We know the WHS community will extend a warm Wolverine welcome to their new leader.
Best wishes to all Horizon West students for a great 2021-2022 school year!
