Honored to be recognized with a Communicator Award of Distinction and with a Charlie Award by the Florida Magazine Association.
Horizon West Magazine is honored to recognize Jessica Villegas as one of the winners of the Who’s Who of Horizon West Award for 2024. Presented annually, this award acknowledges local community leaders who have followed their passions, going above and beyond, to create incredible things for the Horizon West community.
In recognizing Jessica with the Who's Who Award, Horizon West Magazine honors an entrepreneur who is actively building a legacy around her passion to positively impact the lives of young people.
Jessica is a success coach for teens and young adults and the founder of Hi-Lite Coaching + Consulting, a Horizon West-based business born out of a passion to serve youth in a way that removes internal barriers, ignites confidence and generates excitement about the future. Since its founding in 2020, Hi-Lite has had a profound effect on our community, impacting the lives of over 3,000 youth and families through their programs and services.
Jessica’s passion for putting the next generation on a path to success shines in Hi-Lite’s mission — “to equip youth with an undeniable sense of clarity and direction that inspires a lifetime of confidence, resilience, and continuous improvement.” She and the team of coaches at Hi-Lite are fulfilling this mission every day through their programs and events, from one-on-one coaching to groups.
The company’s signature “Empower. Transform. Achieve.” programs are designed to help teens and young adults understand their values and to craft a vision for their own life. Jessica's commitment to providing educational and developmental programs, like the ETA program, are helping Horizon West teens and young adults realize their potential and navigate their own paths to a successful and fulfilling life.
Jessica says, “I believe we all have the power to control the direction of our lives and can reinvent our legacies with the right systems in place and the right coach by our side. My vision is to give every young person access to this resource, which can provide them with the opportunity to live a life of purpose, direction, and feeling of success - as these are the true ingredients to feeling happy.”
To make that vision a reality, Jessica is seeking ways to expand the business and to reach more people. She is developing a training and onboarding program so new coaches can learn the Hi-Lite curriculum, making the services available to additional enrollees. But perhaps the most exciting development right now is that Jessica will soon participate in a reality competition show about entrepreneurship in startup companies called “The Blox.”
As one of 100 small business and scalable startups, Jessica will participate in a live-in, intensive business bootcamp where she will be immersed in a focused and challenging curriculum, surrounded by fellow entrepreneurs, for one week. Contestants will compete in a series of workshops, pitches, one-on-one consults and other activities, after each of which they will be ranked in real time to ultimately determine who has the “The Best Startup On The Blox.”
While there is prize money on the line, Jessica hopes the competition will give her the exposure to help Hi-Lite become a household name for teenagers and young adults looking for success.
She recently spoke with the West Orange Observer about the program, “The ultimate goal would be to develop my skills, help expose Hi-Lite to potential investors or find some sort of investor opportunity to help us scale, and to connect and collaborate with other business owners to find ways to help other business owners grow and to help Hi-Lite grow.”
Jessica will film the competition summer of 2024 and the program will air later in the year. No matter the outcome, this exciting opportunity will increase awareness of the work Jessica and Hi-Lite are doing to empower youth to create lives that leave them feeling fulfilled.
“Being in line with that vision of becoming a nationwide household name for teen and young adult development. It’s imperative that people know that we exist and for us to find a way to offer services to as many different types of families and people as possible. It’s imperative that we get that visibility, and even if that means just 99 other entrepreneurs knowing that we exist, there’s that opportunity to share.”
Horizon West Magazine wishes Jessica the best of luck in the upcoming competition!
Fellow Horizon Westers can support Jessica on her mission to put teens and young adults on the path to success by watching her on “The Blox” later this year. The show is planned to air in late summer or early fall 2024. It will be available on Prime Video, Facebook Watch and “The Blox” app.
