FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Horizon West, FL - May 9, 2023 - Horizon West Happenings (HWH), the microlocal-focused organization that has served as a catalyst for community connection in Horizon West for the past seven years, is announcing a change. As of June 1, HWH co-owners Cynthia Dailey and Stephanie Lang will helm separate businesses that will each continue to serve current clients and the community at large.
This decision was made with careful consideration about how to best serve all those who depend on HWH’s current services — local businesses, organization, and residents. Having served Horizon West as it grew from a fledging community to the boomtown of explosive growth that it is today, Horizon West Happenings’ leaders recognized the need to evolve, too.
Current HWH Director of Operations, Stephanie Lang, will own and operate Horizon West Happenings, which will continue to offer a digital media program and host events that have become community traditions including Horizon West Fest and Flavor Fest of Horizon West.
HWH Founder and Publisher, Cynthia Dailey will separately provide community-enriching information to Horizon West residents via online channels and printed materials, including continued publication of the annually printed magazine Living in Horizon West - Resource & Lifestyle Guide, monthly direct mail and additional programs to be announced.
The separation of entities will enable each business owner to explore new possibilities and optimize their offerings for the ever-growing, ever-evolving Horizon West community that we all live, work and play in.
“We are deeply grateful to our partners and the community for their support over the last seven years, from the time when ‘Happenings’ was a newly sparked idea all the way to today! Together, we have accomplished so much, and we are enjoying a vibrant community because of our work together,” said founder Cynthia Dailey. “We are proud of what we have achieved as a unified team, and we are ready to move forward in a way that enables us to fulfill our personal goals and professional dreams that support living an amazing life here in our hometown of Horizon West.”
Stephanie Lang added, "This change is exciting news for everyone! We want our digital partners, event sponsors and the community to know that it will be business as usual. The services and partnerships you are accustomed to today remain available as our two organizations will continue to collaborate to serve you. We are going to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders as we work together to continue supporting the idea that was the basis for the establishment of ‘Happenings’ — create what you want to be a part of!"
During its tenure, HWH has organized numerous community events, including the annual Horizon West Fest, supported the creation of numerous community start-up organizations and strived to keep residents in the loop on what is happening in their hometown. These efforts have always aimed to foster a strong sense of community in the Horizon West area. This redefined partnership continues the legacy of HWH programs and initiatives and maintains the deep connections forged between residents, businesses, and community organizations. Both leaders are prepared and energized to continue to serve the Horizon West community while exploring new possibilities.
