Home to Haute Roasts and Classic Cold Brews
We are always on the hunt for innovative eats in our community and we found something that we know you’re going to love as much as we do.
Otus Coffee is the very definition of innovation and they are changing the game for coffee lovers in Horizon West!
Established in 2017 by Horizon West local, Glen Turchin, Otus Coffee is committed to the vision of sourcing 100% of their coffee direct-from-farm. Not only will this enable coffee connoisseurs to experience coffee from all over the world, it also ensures that the farms are receiving fair prices for the crops they cultivate.
This Specialty Coffee Roaster and Cold Brew Enthusiast is a man with a mission!
So now that you know who they are, let’s talk the thing that gets us all up in the morning…COFFEE!
Specialty roasts and cold brew are the name of the game at Otus Coffee. You can currently explore options from places like Ethiopia, Columbia, Costa Rica and Guatemala. Choose from Classic or Reserve Cold Brew for days when the Florida weather is just too toasty for a traditional roast.
The taste and quality testing of every small batch order is meticulous, thanks to Glen’s experienced palette. He uses an intricate system to make sure every roast comes out exactly the way it was designed to taste.
“The cupping table always tells the true story of what happened during the roast. Even when you think you have nailed the perfect roast, the cupping table often humbles. The real art of this craft is being able to take your roast profile plus the cup on the table and tell a story of how the roast profile affected the cup. It’s not always easy, but it keeps the ‘daily grind’ fun and the coffee continues to improve!”
“Have fun with it and step outside of your comfort zone with wild tasting notes and flavors so you can understand what the roaster, cupping team or farmer is trying to communicate. You may be pleasantly surprised when you try a coffee with wild tasting notes, and it will also help you grow and expand your coffee tasting pallet.”
